Add an IDE DVD rw drive to your ide enabled mac or replace a failed cdrom drive in your mac. We stock units compatible with all DVD capable ide based macs that are capable of accepting a 5 1/4 inch drive and have a free ide port on the chain as well as an OS capable of reading DVDs. Units come without jumper settings for connection to the ide chain and will need configuring to ensure id clashes don't bring your mac to a grinding halt.
Okay, now it's time to be honest and own up. If you're running OS X 10.3 and above on your mac, you're in heaven. All those people you see advertising Superdrives on ebay are pretty much ripping you off.
The Mac's superdrive is basically a Toshiba or sony mechanism. What you pay for with Apple is the fact that they're made sure it fits and works with the Mac. A standard DVDrw drive will work in your apple mac and the ones we've advertised here work with OS 10.3 and above. Note that if you are using a quicksilver or G5, you may have to remove the front black or grey bezel to make it fit. On top of that, the eject button won't be needed here!
