We hold stock of numerous apple macs.  In effect, we can surmise our continually changing stock as consisting mainly of:

• Apple Classic systems such as the Apple II europlus, Apple 512k, Mac Plus, Mac classic, Mac SE and SE/30
• 68030 processor based macs such as Apple II series, LC series and performas
• 68040 processor based macs from the LC to the performa, Quadra and Centris series
• Powermac based macs including those based on the 601 processor through the 604 based processors
• G3 powermacs from beige desktop units to blue and white G3s and iMacs
• G4 based powermacs including dual processor units, digital audio units and units up to and including 733mHz units.  We’re currently on the lookout for Quicksilvers.
• Powerbooks from the ubiquitous powerbook 100 right through to Bronze Pismo G3 400mHz units and clamshell iBooks.

What is it about macs that are different from PCs?  Macs hold their value due to the limited number available in the world and their growing popularity.  This coupled with the stability of the operating systems, upgradability, ability to run the latest operating system on a fast and reliable second user machine and continuing support for older operating environments through shareware and open projects means that a refurbished mac will hold it’s relative computing value for far longer than any PC.  In effect, it would be far easier to compare the world of Apple Macintosh to that of SUN, Silicon Graphics and Linux, ie longevity of the machine in terms of usability.When you buy a refurbished Mac, you’re not just buying a personal computer, you’re buying a way of life.  Many users personalize their macs in a varied number of ways.  Through our work, we’ve met a considerable number of customers who have numerous macs at home, in some instances, one for each room in the house.Macs are in effect very stable machines.  We rarely encounter a failed machine, even those 15 years old.  When it comes to refurbished the macs we purchase, we take great care to check the units thoroughly,  This means carrying ou the following checks:

• Hard drive is wiped, reformatted and a new operating system is installed.  This intensive task tests the hard drive extensively and highlights any faults.  A faulty hard drive is recycled
• Memory is checked
• We tested the CD/ DVD rom drive through the installation of a new Operating system
• We test the processor
• We test all the ports
• The mac is left running for 2 hours minimum to check it’s stable.

Once we’re happy with the computer, it’s cleaned externally.  This doesn’t just mean wiping it down.  We go a number of steps further.  We check the casing for any significant scratches and if found, swap out that part of the casing.  We clean our casing down with cleansing solution and wax the casing to remove any small scratches and give it a near factory finish condition.  Finally, we polish up the casing and where applicable the screen.If you’re looking to have your mac shipped to you, you can be assured of a quality service.  We use parcelforce as they are the only carrier in the UK who will guarantee delivery to a residential address.  We employ a specialist parckaging supplier to produce double walled boxes and use recycled polystyrene chips as packaging fill.  That way, we know that your parcel will be secure against any damage in transit and arrive in the same condition it left us.
